Thanks for the details - I know what you mean about the light being spooky.  I always wondered why he was wearing his coat indoors. Even if he was on his way out, it didn't look like it was raining outside, so there seemed to be no point. But I suppose that's the point of the painting - the enigma.

Thank you for that, I found it today; it's called North Corridor, painted by David Evans in 1979.  I always find it a bit of a spooky picture,  I'm a bit scared of whatever is providing the light glowing through the door!

Hi Laura,

I don't know who painted it or what it's called but last time I was in the gallery it was hanging in the stair area to the left of the front door at Kelvingrove.  So it's worth having a look.

Do you know what the painting or artist is called?  I was thinking of this painting the last time I was in Kelvingrove, but couldn't find it or ask for it!
