"Lessons in Live Building"

Jamie McCallum / Joshua Brown

21st September, Thursday

Jamie will present his involvement of live-building, from a student’s perspective and how this impacted his experience in practice but his studies too.

Jamie and Joshua are young SEDA members who have been working on several live-build projects across Scotland. Discussing the benefits of participating in work on site and the invaluable skills you develop from numerous challenges that can arise. Closing with a discussion and a debate about the future of architectural education and the role which live-building or hands on experience should play. Should all Architects/designers step away from behind the computers, put on a ‘high vis’ and get ‘on the tools’?
